Memory Power Games - Increase Your Memory Power With These Fun Games

When I mistakenly put my nephew's diaper in the freezer and tossed his newly prepared bottle in the trash - it hit me. I was reaching those years when people pass by familiar faces who say "remember when" and all you can drudge from your memory is "nope". After the little "frozen diaper" incident, I rushed straight to Google to find some memory power games. I needed them and fast! If you have found yourself doing similar kooky things, then check out these games that can boost your brain power. If you do, you might just find those keys you've been looking for since breakfast!

For the Tech-y Trainer

Finally a video game that is adult friendly! If you can pry your little one away from his Nintendo DS - try out BrainAge by Nintendo. With a bevy of mini games that aren't only brain boosting but also fun, this game can leave your brain sharper and your day brighter. You just might be the one that can't be pried away from that DS screen for a change!

Online Wonders

The internet is filled with games that can give your brain a good work out. You can find online versions of the simon says memory game, as well as interactive memory match games. Whether you're looking for free or paid versions, run a Google search - there are some great sites full of brain games out there.

For Old-Fashioned Learners

Some of the most effective memory games today are still the good old-fashioned ones you played as a kid. Jigsaw puzzles can help keep your brain in tip-top shape and help improve motor skills. Crosswords, word jumbles, checkers and chess are also great ways to sharpen your thinker.

 For Literary Types

Keep Your Brain Alive, a book by Lawrence Katz, Ph.D.,  is filled with neurobic exercises sure to keep your brain sharp. Using all five senses, neurobics are exercises that have you do your everyday tasks in unusual ways such as eating with your eyes closed. One of the most unusual exercises in the book involves taking pictures upside down on top of a desk.

Besides sharpening your brain, memory power games have also been shown to reduce the risk of brain degenerating diseases. Repeat these games a few times a week and you will be amazed at the results. Trust me - I actually remembered where I parked at the mall this week!
