Word Search Creator

Word search puzzles are a fun activity that children and adults as many do. Basically, the idea that the puzzle solver has submitted letters from a grid. The grid at first glance seem to be completely random, but in fact hidden within the network are the words (words can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal - the "reverse" directions as from right to left and from bottom 'above). Solver task of finding the circle and all the hidden words puzzlewithin the grid.

One nice thing about word search puzzles is that they can be any theme whatsoever - the puzzle creator can choose a words around any topic that he likes.  This flexibility means such puzzles are a popular item in magazines and newsletter, and also means that such puzzles can also be used in a classroom environment (a teacher who creates a puzzle could choose words appropriate for the reading level of her students).

As far as children as concerned there can also be quite a few possible benefits from exposure to these puzzles. Firstly, they can help teach children to focus and concentrate on a task. Secondly, they may contains new words that the child is unfamiliar with, and thus help expand vocabulary. Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, solving them requires that the child pays close attention to the exact spelling of words, and thus hopefully improves their spelling ability.

Of course creating a word search puzzle by hand would be an enormously complicated, tedious and time consuming task - figuring how to fit the words together into a reasonable size grid could take hours. Fortunately, this is the kind of task that computers excel at, so if using appropriate word search creator software all you have to do is choose your list of words, choose the size of letter grid, and the computer can generate a puzzle for you in seconds.
